Display - Corning Enters Supply Agreements with QDI, Innolux
September 22, 2004
Corning has signed an agreement with QDI (Quanta Display) to supply glass for its 6G plant. As with the Chi Mei-Corning agreement, payment is likely to be remitted up front. However, unlike the Chi Mei agreement, QDI is expected to pay for one quarter's glass supply a quarter in advance over the course of one to two years. Payment has been said to total NT$200 million, yet this amount may be affected by calculations made at the time payments are due. The agreement also contains provisions regarding glass supply to QDI's 5G plant.

Innolux has also signed a supply agreement with Corning for its 5G plant. For its 4.5G line, Innolux is also presumed to have secured supply from NEG; the company is said to have gained supply from Asahi.
